The Story: A Silence That Screams

You wake up on a cold, perforated metal floor. The last thing you remember is the "Sub-Level 4" indicator on the elevator flashing red before the cable snapped. You are an entry-level technician for the Aethelgard Corporation, a company whose mission statement is as vague as their safety protocols are nonexistent.

In Chapter 1, the lab isn't just a setting—it’s a predator. As you navigate the ruined biology sector, you realize that the "specimens" aren't in their glass tubes anymore. The air is thick with the smell of ozone and something organic that shouldn't be breathing. You aren't here to save the world or uncover a grand conspiracy—you are here to find a working maintenance hatch before whatever is scratching inside the ventilation ducts finds you. The narrative unfolds through scattered voice memos and blood-stained clipboards, painting a picture of a scientific breakthrough that turned into a biological massacre.

How to Play: Survival Protocol

Success in Deep In The Lab requires more than quick reflexes; it requires resource management and environmental awareness.

  • Movement & Interaction: Use WASD or Arrow Keys to navigate. Interaction is mapped to [E]. Your movement speed decreases as your stamina drops, so avoid sprinting unless it’s a life-or-death situation.
  • The Battery Mechanic: Your flashlight is your lifeline, but it consumes power rapidly. You must toggle it off in safe zones to conserve energy. Look for yellow-capped lithium cells hidden in desk drawers.
  • Stealth vs. Sound: Walking over broken glass or metal grates alerts entities to your position. Use the [C] key to crouch-walk, which significantly reduces your noise radius at the cost of speed.
  • Puzzle Solving: Many doors are locked behind biometric or circuit puzzles. You’ll need to reroute power from non-essential sectors (like lighting) to the blast doors to progress. This creates a terrifying trade-off: do you want the door open, or do you want to see what's in the room with you?
  • The "Lurk" Indicator: Pay attention to the edges of your screen. If they begin to blur or darken, something is watching you. This is your cue to hide under a desk or inside a locker immediately.
Pro-Tip: Never use your flashlight while hiding. The AI in Chapter 1 is programmed to track light sources even through the slats of locker doors.
